Henry Eugene Gray Jr.

Mr. Henry Eugene Gray, Jr., of South Boston, Va, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Mr. Gray was born on May 10, 1946 and was the son of the late Nannie Pearl Boggs Gray Ferguson and the late Robert Thomas Ferguson.  He was 77 years of age. He was married to his late wife of 50 years, Pauline Martin Gray.

He graduated from Drewery Mason High School in Ridgeway, VA.  He served in the United States Army. After returning home from the Army, he was employed by several grocery stores. He retired from Walmart Supercenter in South Boston, VA. Henry loved people and always greeted everyone with his contagious smile. He never met a stranger. He loved working with his flowers and in his garden with his late wife but most of all he loved God. He will be greatly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted friend, neighbor and caregiver, Shirley Stone, (Garry) of South Boston, VA. Tony Cooper II and family and Timothy Cooper and family of South Boston, VA. Tameka Cooper of Greenfield, California. The Deliverance Tabernacle Church Family and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held, Tuesday, January 9^th at 11:00 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in South Boston, VA., with Bishop Larry Burrell officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites.
