Herbert "Les" Lester Powell, Jr.

Herbert Lester “Les” Powell, Jr. of Timberlake, NC passed away January 3, 2021.  He was born in Halifax County, VA on November 29, 1954 and was 66 years of age. He was the son of the late Herbert Lester Powell, Sr. and the late Shirley Burton Powell.

He was a member of Ash Avenue Baptist Church and Virginia State Police Association.  He was a retired Master Trooper of the Virginia State Police after 27 years of service.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Halifax Memorial Gardens with the Virginia State Police Chaplin, Sr. Trooper Joseph Naylor officiating. Regarding the CDC guidelines with COVID-19, we recommend the wearing of face mask and social distancing.
