Irvin Kenneth Shelton

Irvin Kenneth Shelton, a lifelong resident of Halifax County, VA passed away at his home on April 25, 2022.  He was born on September 28, 1932, to Willie Claud Shelton and Sue Arendall Shelton. He was a tobacco farmer and avid vegetable gardener who retired from Daystrom Furniture.

Kenneth loved his family and his church, County Line Baptist, where he was still active. He served as deacon, Sunday School Director, cemetery committee chairman, choir member, and in many other roles.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathy Diane Shelton, and a grandson, Evan Shelton Smith.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of almost 65 years, his daughter Karen Smith (Paul), a grandson Aaron Smith (Emily), special blessings Avery and Olivia, a “granddaughter” Grace Lanham, and a beloved cat “Boots”.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at County Line Baptist Church, Java, VA with Pastor Mike McDowell officiating.
