James P. "Buddy" Reese, Sr.

James Phillip “Buddy” Reese, Sr. of Nathalie, VA passed from this life on October 8, 2018. He was born in Halifax on July 31, 1930 and was 88 years of age. He was the son of the late John Robert Reese and the late Mary Cecile Coates Reese. He was first married to the late Lucille Moorefield Reese and then the late Margaret Dawson Reese.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Millstone. He was a lifelong tobacco farmer who dearly loved the land and the crops he grew. Along with growing the crop, he measured tobacco with the Farm Service Agency for numerous years, worked in the tobacco warehouses and made countless friends.
He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army with the rank of Sargeant.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Millstone with Rev. Thad Decker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
