Jesse Linwood Baker

Mr. Jesse “Dick” Linwood Baker of Halifax, VA passed away January 8^th, 2022.  He was born, February 4, 1936, in Tarboro, North Carolina to the late John Frank and Louise Elizabeth Matthews Baker and was 85 years old. He was married to the late Dorothy “Christine” Moore for 64 years. He was a retired supervisor at J.P. Stevens. He loved fishing, playing poker, and going annually to Dollywood.  He also enjoyed watching sports and westerns, and eating at Huddle House. He loved spending time with family and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Revelation Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Weathersby officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home.
