John Keith Loftis, Sr.

Mr. John Keith Loftis, Sr. of South Boston, VA passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.  He was born June 25, 1929 in Halifax County, VA and was 89 years old.  He was the son of the late Thomas Hobson Loftis and the late Jimmie Osborne Loftis and was married to the late Rebecca Moore Loftis.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and a Sunday school teacher.  Mr. Loftis also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Dominion Virginia Power after 43 years of dedicated service. He also coached VFW baseball team in South Boston Dixie Youth for many years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bob Balance and the Rev. Susan Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in the Halifax Memorial Gardens with military honors.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 29, 2018 one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
