Karen Denise Hughes

Karen Denise Hughes of Vernon Hill, VA passed away September 9, 2020.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on May 5, 1965 and was 55 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Margie Jean Monroe and Jimmy Hughes and wife Sue who survive.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Millstone. Karen was a “Mama” and “Maemae” to everyone; her grandchildren were her world and she never met a stranger.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Millstone Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Rhew and Rev. Barry Fero officiating. Due to the concerns of COVID-19, we suggest practicing social distancing and wearing masks. 

The family will receive friends Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
