Kathleen Cassada Bass Johnson

Mrs. Kathleen Cassada Bass Johnson of South Boston, VA passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Commonwealth Home Health.  She was born February 22, 1921 in Halifax County, VA and was 97years old.  She was the daughter of the late Charles Daniel Cassada and the late Virginia Wilborn Cassada and was married to the late Charles W. Bass and the late Noel (Dave) L. Johnson.   She was a lifetime member of the Dan River Baptist Church serving in many positions, choir pianist for Sunday School, Sunday School secretary for over 40 years, treasurer for AARP Chapter 4327, organist for the Clarksville Chapter 145 of the Eastern Star and a volunteer for the Woodview Nursing Home.   Mrs. Kathleen Cassada Bass Johnson is survived by: One Son Kenneth Charles Bass and wife Gail of Danville, VA One Daughter Mary Lee Bass Jordan and husband Mike of Greenville, NC Two Granddaughters Wendy B. Davis of Louisville, GA Christie Sheperd of Charlotte, NC Two great grandchildren Carson Davis and Kenadie Shepherd A number of nieces and nephews ***Preceded in death by*** Three sisters, Agnes C. Duffer, Annie Lucille Cassada, and Livian C. Duffer Two brothers, Charles D. Cassada and James Wallace (Mike) Cassada   Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dan River Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Halifax Memorial Gardens. Following the graveside committal, a reception will be held in the Dan River Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Dan River Baptist Church.
