Kathryn Terry Wilson born December 9, 1929 in Pittsylvania County, Va passed away Friday, September 17th, 2021. She was a graduate of Longwood University (BS and Masters) and taught math 30+ years beginning in Franklin County and Dan River School district right out of college, and then taught at Halifax County High School the majority of her career. She was a member of Oak Level Presbyterian Church, Wilson Memorial Ruritan Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Halifax Woman's Club, Oak Level Fire Department support team and of course her bridge group.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth Jones Terry and Henry Thomas Terry, Sr., by her three brothers; Henry Thomas Terry, Jr. (Sadie), George Ryland Terry and her infant twin brother.
She was married to S. Baxter Wilson, Jr. 69 years who survives her in death. She is also survived by a son Samuel Baxter Wilson, III (Lisa), a daughter Kathy Wilson Porterfield (David), four grandchildren; Samuel Baxter Wilson, IV (Laura), Michael James Wilson, Daniel Thomas Porterfield and Nancy Porterfield Kren (Greg), and two great-grandchildren; Logan Bruce Kren and Levi Joseph Kren, extended family and others who have become family over a life time well lived.

Service for family only will be inside Oak Level Presbyterian Church with speakers set up to project to lawn/parking lot for friends who want to attend in a safe environment (masks to be worn by all) Saturday, Sept. 25th at 2:00. There will be a time during the service for friends outside the church to share thoughts and memories, but we would love to have your memories shared on the Powell Funeral Home site as well.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Oak Level Fire Department, Oak Level Presbyterian Church and/or cemetery fund.
