Kermit Lee Wright

Kermit Lee Wright, age 86, passed away July 15, 2023.  He was born in Halifax County to the late Addie Cobb Wright and the late Lula Clark Barksdale Wright.  He was married to the late Juanita Mae Williams Wright.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Republican Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many terms and was a devoted husband and father.  Kermit enjoyed so much in life and lived his life to the fullest.  He was an avid musician and singer who loved Bluegrass Music and loved singing for local charities. Kermit was a NASCAR fan, collector of junk, old tractors, loved going to the race with his brother-in-law, Buck and especially wheeling and dealing.  His passing will leave a void, but his memory will live on in our hearts.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sheila W. Daniel, Sandy W. Holt, and Steven Kermit Wright all of Halifax.  Four Grandchildren, Regina Phillips, Elexa Wright, Donna Ridgeway and Dawn Brumfield, a number of Great Grandchildren.  Siblings, Elva Wright Holland of Halifax, Faye Wright Short (Jack) of Cody and Norman Wright (Debbie) of Falls Church, VA. A host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Republican Grove with the Rev. Shelton Miles and the Rev. Zak Ford officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
