Lacy White Powell of Altavista, formally of South Boston, passed away April 17, 2024 at the age of 80. He was born in Halifax County, VA on June 25, 1943 to the late Herbert Augustus Powell and the late Annie Alderson Powell. He was married for 56 years to the late Audrey Chandler Powell.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of South Boston. Lacy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. After his service to his country, he worked and retired after over 40 years with Dominion Energy as a manager. Lacy enjoyed collecting antique signs and furniture, and was a lover of antique cars, his favorites were a 37 Dodge Brothers Coupe and a 1957 Chevy.

A funeral service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Boelte and Chaplain Samantha Whitlow officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends Monday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
