Levern Owen Hazelwood

Mrs. Levern Owen Hazelwood of South Boston, VA passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 after a lengthy illness surrounded by her family at her home.  She was born September 24, 1931 in Halifax County, VA and was 87 years old.  She was the daughter of the late Willie Fuller Owen and the late Gertrude Nichols Owen.  She was a devoted wife for 70 years to John Richard Hazelwood, who survives.   She was a faithful member of the South Boston Church of God and retired from Burlington Mills after 35 years of service.  She was a volunteer at the Good Samaritan for 30 years. Levern enjoyed quilting and cooking and helping others.   Mrs. Levern Owen Hazelwood is survived by: Her Husband John Richard Hazelwood One Daughter Ann Trent Two Sons Rick Norman Hazelwood and wife Nancy Charles Hazelwood and wife Nancy Five Grandchildren Jason Hazelwood (Nina), John Trent (Amanda), Angie Stiltner (Brian), Kyle Hazelwood (Luciana) and Joseph Hazelwood Eleven Great Grandchildren One Great Grandchild One sister-in-law, Jean Owen ***Preceded in death by*** One grandson, Josh Hazelwood Nine siblings, Gracie Douglas, Mildred Moser, Simmon Owen, Carolyn Snow, Kenneth Owen, Jackie Conner, Bill Owen, Marion Parker Owen and Lawrence Fuller Owen Son-in-law, Hal Trent   Funeral services will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at the South Boston Church of God with the Rev. T.
