Linda Shotwell Harper, 72, of Brookneal, passed on Tuesday afternoon, October 19, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born on October 8, 1949, in Lynchburg, Linda Lu was the daughter of the late Eleanor Wyatt Shotwell and the late Emmett Shotwell. She studied at Averett University and taught for many years. Along with those accomplishments, she was also a loving and caring wife, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James Harper (Brookneal); one sister, Jackie Hunt (Jimmy) of Gretna, one sister-in-law Em Moorefield (Gene) of Brookneal; two nieces, Morgan Creasy (Heath) of Lynch Station and Tally Updike (Ben) of Brookneal; 2 great-nieces, Audrey Updike and Wyatt Creasy; 2 great-nephews, Gabe Updike and Michael Creasy.
At Linda’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Her Facebook page will remain open, and all are welcome to post memories and final words to her there.
