Mary Lea Dixie Whitlow

On October 4, 2022, Mary Lea “Dixie” Whitlow passed away at age 96 in her home in Alton, VA.  Predeceased by her parents Lea and Marion Willson of Bethesda, MD, and her loving husband, Wayne M. Whitlow, she is survived by her 4 children—Janet W. Clover (George), Richard Whitlow (Dona), John Whitlow (Claire), and Mary W. Otte (Bob); 2 grandchildren—Cheryl Henneberry and John Michael Henneberry (Kathy); 5 great grandchildren—Amaris and Tiana Villegas and Aubrey, McKinley and Greyson Henneberry.

The family sends a special thanks to Dixie’s caregivers for their devotion and loving attention—Bernice, Brenda, Brinda, Daphne, Deborah, Janice, and Mattie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home.  Burial to follow at a later date in Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

The family will receive friends Saturday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
