Mary Elizabeth Barnes Magnotto

Mary Elizabeth Barnes “Skeet” Magnotto of Halifax County, VA passed away peacefully at her home with her family nearby on March 8, 2022.  She was born in Lynchburg, VA on August 3, 1948 and was 73 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry Barnes and the late Mary Elizabeth Stevens Barnes. She was married to the late Enrico Magnotto.

 

She was a devoted member of Winns Creek Baptist Church where she was also secretary of the Sunshine Club, a member of Crystal Hill Woman’s Club and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.  Mary Elizabeth loved dancing, her cowboy boots, Elvis Presley, Blue Grass music, swimming and being at the ocean.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Winns Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Kopco and Rev. Tim Madison officiating.  

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at her home.
