Mr. Melvin Malcolm Cole, 87, of South Boston, VA passed away Friday, January 3, 2025. He was born in Halifax County, VA on August 6, 1937, to the late Felix Alexander Cole Sr. and the late Carrie Conner Cole. Melvin was married to the late Helen Conner Cole. Mr. Cole worked as TV Repairman at J.C. Howlett and retired as a maintenance technician at Wabash. Melvin Cole was a man of unwavering faith who loved God and was a devoted member of Alton Baptist Church, where he found joy and purpose in his spiritual community. He never met a stranger, treating everyone with warmth and thoughtfulness, which often inspired others to show him acts of generosity in return. A devoted family man, he deeply cherished his wife and boys, always standing by their side with love and support. Melvin's genuine care extended to his community and his beloved pets, including his faithful dog Bo, his spirited pug Wolfie, and his cherished cats Snow Ball, Boo Boo, and Redd. His good-hearted nature and steady demeanor made him a source of joy and comfort to all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday January 7, 2025, 2:00 PM at the Cole Family Cemetery with Rev. Thad Decker officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. The family cemetery is located at the intersection of East Hyco Road and Shady Grove Church Road.
