Monroe Carlton Redd of Halifax, VA passed away February 23, 2025 at the age of 84. He was born in Pittsylvania County on February 15, 1941 to the late Carlton Luther Redd and Daliah McGregor Redd.
Monroe was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a retired carpenter. Monroe was well known for his visits to Walmart, where he loved people watching and talking to and joking with everyone. Monroe thoroughly enjoyed car rides, whether it be to look at tobacco fields or at Christmas lights. Monroe loved to eat but especially loved cookies. His passing will leave a void in all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St Paul’s Episcopal Church Cemetery with Charles Adkins officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home.
