Muriel Jean Meyer Bainbridge

Muriel Jean Meyer Bainbridge, 91 years old departed this world peacefully on December 22, 2024 at the age of 91. She was born in Weehaeken, NJ to parents Lillian Muriel Hookery Meyer and William Meyer on November 23, 1933. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

 Muriel graduated from Tupper Lake High School in upper New York State and was a graduate of California State University with a degree in Social Services. After graduating, she worked in Sacramento, CA then moved to Annapolis, VA, and finally retired from Senior Services in Hampton, VA. Gardening seemed to come naturally to her, and she became a Master Gardener in Baltimore, MD. Muriel also enjoyed volunteering with the Master Gardener’s Association in Annapolis, MD, Hampton, VA, and the Southside Master Gardener’s Association in Halifax. Continuing her love of gardening she volunteered at the Botanical Gardens as well. One of her favorite things to do was to dress the town of Halifax resident dinosaur for every possible holiday or event.

 Muriel married Martin Keeler Bainbridge who preceded her in death. While married and as an Air Force wife, she and her family served two tours in Germany, one in Spain, and one in Turkey.

 A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Grayce O'Neill officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
