Muriel Palmer Tune

Mrs. Muriel Palmer Tune of Vernon Hill, VA passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at her home.  She was born February 20, 1923 in Halifax County and was 98 years old. She was the daughter of the late John Williams Palmer and the late Carrie Ramsey Palmer and was married to the late William Otis Tune Sr.  She was a member of the Halifax Baptist Church where she served as treasurer for many years. She was retired from the Halifax County Cancer Association where she served as director for many years. She also was a former member of the Halifax Woman’s Club. She loved and cared for all of her family and was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jackie Palmer Powell of South Boston
Four grandchildren
Two step grandsons
One step granddaughter
Six great grandchildren

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike McDowell conducting the service.  Burial will follow in the Halifax Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service and other times at her home.
