Paula Dickerson Boccabello, 57, a 32-year resident of Churchton, MD, and previously of Clover, VA, passed away suddenly on July 25, 2024 in Annapolis, MD. Born November 27, 1966, to the late Norman Wayne Dickerson and Polly Neal Dickerson, she graduated from Halifax County High School before moving to Maryland in 1992. For the past 15 years, she managed Annapolis Comprehensive Dentistry in Parole, MD.
The most important thing in Paula’s life was her family. Her love for family was the embodiment of who she was. She adored spending time with her loved ones and found immense joy in feeding and nourishing them with her home-cooked meals. She was known for her delicious Brunswick stew and homemade bread. Paula was passionate about researching genealogy and enjoyed connecting her family structures, locating ancestors, and researching local and family history. She loved traveling to explore leads about her family’s past.
Paula was a long-time parishioner of Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church in Clover, VA. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Wayne Dickerson and Polly Neal Dickerson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Patrick Stephen Boccabello; her sons, John Michael Boccabello of King George, VA and James Craig Boccabello of Churchton, MD; her brother, Norman Wayne Dickerson, Jr. of Clover, VA; her sister, Norma Jean Thaxton of Clover, VA; her sister-in-law, Joyce B. Eason of Dunkirk, MD; her mother-in-law, Lauren J. Boccabello of Dunkirk, MD; her father-in-law, Stephen J. Boccabello of Edgewater, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paula’s life on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 2 to 6 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church in Clover, Virginia with the Rev. Aubrey Heath officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and in the church fellowship hall following the service.
