Richard "Ricky" Counts Hutcherson, Jr.

Richard “Ricky” Counts Hutcherson, Jr. of South Boston, VA passed away January 2, 2025 at the age of 70. He was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on January 18, 1954 to the late Richard Counts Hutcherson, Sr. and the late Nancy Lewis Hutcherson. He was married to Rebecca “Becky” Whitt Hutcherson who survives.

He was a member of First Baptist Church. Ricky graduated from Ohio State School of Banking, University of Virginia Bank School and received a business degree from Danville Community College. He was a Bank Manager and retired after 48 years of service. Ricky believed in serving his community; he was a former treasurer of the Rotary Club, a member of the Retail Merchants Association, a Bowling Hall of Fame Member, and a former Board Member of Danville Community College. He served on the Stewardship Committee at church and other committees. Ricky was an avid bowler, cyclist, golfer, and runner. His passing will leave a void in all who knew him

A  funeral service will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of South Boston with the Rev. Bill Boelte and the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at his home.
