Rose Lane Smiley Compton

Rose Lane Smiley Compton of Scottsburg, VA passed away July 28, 2019.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on July 27, 1944 and was 75 years of age. She was the daughter of the late James Godfrey Smiley and the late Gladys Nichols Smiley.  She was married to Tommy Compton who survives.

She was a member of Clover Baptist Church, where she played on the softball team, participated in Mission trips, and served as Sunday School teacher.  She loved Bingo and was a beautician for many years.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Clover Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Walker officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at her home, 8225 J.D. Hagood Hwy, Scottsburg.
