Ruby Inez Martin Morris

Ruby Inez Martin Morris of Scottsburg, VA passed away on February 26, 2025 at the age of 78. She was born in Halifax County on December 4, 1946 to the late Lewis E. Martin, Jr and the late Ruby Elsie Wallen Martin. She was married to Tommy Dewey Morris who survives.

Inez was a member of Fork Baptist Church and attended Black Walnut Baptist Church. Known for her vibrant spirit and her passion for gardening, she brought joy to her community through the stunning flower arrangements that graced her yard. Her well-tended gardens were a testament to her love of nature. Inez loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Inez is survived by her husband of 50 years, Tommy Morris; her daughter, Cheryl H. Bowes of South Boston; grandchildren, Tyler Duffie and Dustin Farrar; and great grandchildren, Jayden Bailey Farrar and Kaleb Thomas Farrar. Also survived by her sister, Shirley Russell (Roy) of Saxe, VA; special friends, Dustin and Angie Hess of South Boston. She was predeceased in death by her grandson, Justin Farrar.

 A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Haskett and the Rev. Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial to follow in the family cemetery.

 The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
