Sara Seat Humphries

Mrs. Sara S. Humphries, 92 of South Boston, VA went to her heavenly home, Friday, November 1, 2019. She was born in South Boston on March 22, 1927 to the late William A. Seat Sr. and the late Effie G. Seat. She was married to the late James T. Humphries, Jr. She is preceded in death by her only brother, William “Billy” A. Seat, Jr.   Mrs. Humphries was a long-standing member of Beth Car Baptist Church.   In addition to her daughter, Donna Jill Basaran and son-in-law, Chetin Basaran, Mrs. Humphries is survived by three granddaughters; Layla Brashear, Diana Basaran-Mitchell (Mitch), Azure Basaran, Five Great Grandchildren; Ishtara Brashear, Ferah Brashear, Chetin Brashear, Elliana Mitchell and Galen Mitchell. Niece, Cindy Seat Spell.   Mrs. Humphries was loved by many and will be missed by all.   Visitation will be at Powell Funeral Home, South Boston, VA, on Monday evening from 7-8:30 PM.   A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery, Omega, VA with Rev. Dr. Eldridge Cullum, IV, pastor of Beth Car Baptist Church officiating.   In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Humphries request friends and family make donations to two wonderful local organizations; Sentara Halifax Home Health and Hospice, 2204 Wilborn Ave., South Boston, VA 24592 or the Halifax County Humane Society, P.O.
