Sebastian Robin, Jr.

Sebastian was born April 15, 1939 to the late Sebastian, Sr. and Jennie Robin in the town of Ycloskey, Louisiana. He was the first-born son of 11 children. He passed to his rest on February 27, 2021 at the age of 81 years.

Sebastian started out at an early age working on shrimp boats and eventually became captain of a tug boat.  After three years of being away from home a lot on the boat he changed his career path to be able to stay close to home with his three sons. He worked various construction jobs and settled on roofing as his specialty. Later in life his brother-in-law got him into doing tile work and taught him the trade. This was his final job before retirement.

He was a family man who loved spending time outdoors with his three sons. The fished, hunted and camped quite often. His boys meant everything to him. He attended their football games when they were in school. When the grandchildren started coming it was even better for him.  He always loved little babies.

Sebastian was a member in good standing with the South Boston Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He was always working in the church wherever he lived. His favorite thing to do was sing. He loved singing the old hymns and had special music quite frequently. He never turned down an opportunity to sing in front of the church family. He loved the Lord dearly and was looking with great anticipation to seeing Jesus when He comes again.

Sebastian is leaving to mourn his loss his lovely wife Betty, three sons, Mike (Julie)Robin of Scottsburg, VA, Richard Robin of Scottsburg, and Tony Robin of Scottsburg. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, Glenn, Brian, Steven, Richard, Jerome, Daryl, Dustin, Savannah and Hannah Robin, along with Buddy Walley. He had 17 great-grandchildren and Two great-great grandchildren. He leaves three sisters: Earlene Dardar of Tennessee, Edith Chuter and Martha Posey of Louisiana. One brother is left, Paul Robin of Mississippi. He is surrounded by a host of nieces and nephews as well. He was preceded in death by his parents Sebastian, Sr. and Jennie Robin, four sisters: Doris Blanchard, Pearl Raasch, Mary Abadie, and Gloria Freire; and two brothers: David and Kenneth Robin. There are a host of other family and friends to mourn his loss as well. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
