Mrs. Sylvia Wilborne Thomas of Alton, VA passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Clarksville Health and Rehab. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia on December 29, 1921 and was 100 years old. She was the daughter of the late Jefferson Davis Wilborne Sr., and the late Nora Scott Wilborne and was married to the late Early Thomas.
She attended Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. She was a lady who loved the Lord, hearing the word of God as she read her Bible. She also shared her thoughts through her preaching. Sylvia loved gardening, especially growing her own vegetables and taking care of her flowers. In her earlier years she enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes. Sylvia was a great cook and loved doing it for her family and friends and annual family reunions. Sylvia enjoyed house painting, preaching the gospel and traveling.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service at the Cemetery.
