Thomas Gordon Snead, Sr.

Thomas Gordon Snead, Sr. of Scottsburg, VA passed away August 3, 2020.  He was born in Halifax County, VA on September 20, 1926 and was 93 years of age. He was the son of the late Stanhope Downs Snead and the late Madge S. Snead. He was married to Nellie Hazelwood Snead who survives.

He was a member of Scottsburg United Methodist Church and served in the United States Army.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kerry Halbert officiating. Burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery, Scottsburg, VA. In keeping with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, funeral service for will be livestream via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

The family will receive friends Friday one-hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
