Valeria Whitt Conner of Scottsburg, VA passed away January 6, 2021. She was born in Halifax County, VA on August 25, 1929 and was 91 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Whitt and the late Gladys Warren Long Whitt. She was married to the late Joseph Hagood Conner, Sr.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she kept the nursery. Valeria also was the Cafeteria Manager at Scottsburg Elementary for twenty-seven years. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and bowling. She and Joe followed the kids, grandkids, great grandkids to thousands of ballgames. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tony Brooks, Rev. Kevin Moen and Rev. Andrew Son officiating. In keeping with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, we recommend the wearing of face masks and social distancing. The service will be livestreamed via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
