Virginia Wilkerson Coates

Virginia Wilkerson Coates of South Boston, VA passed away August 11, 2019.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on September 17, 1921 and was 97 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Jimmy Lee Wilkerson and the late Emma Marie Chandler Wilkerson.  She was married to the late Harry Coates.

Virginia was a member of Second Baptist Church.  She loved the outdoors, her game shows, being with family and friends and her special little friends, Toby and Bella, her lap dogs.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Lewandowski officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery

The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2176 Wolftrap Rd., South Boston, VA
