Virginia Dare Seamster Leadbetter

Virginia Dare Seamster Leadbetter of Halifax, VA passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at her home.  She was born in Halifax County on January 31, 1947 to the late Elvin Seamster Sr. and Nannie Conner Seamster and was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.  She worked at Burlington industry for 26 years until it closed and then worked at Walmart for 15 years. She loved working, especially at Walmart where she had a lot of friends.  She is survived by her son Ronnie and his wife Brandy, a sister Joyce S. Dawson and her husband Cecil, by her brother Elijah “Butch” Seamster, and 4 nephews. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 3:00PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Gooch officiating. Burial will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Powell Funeral Home for 1 hour prior to the funeral.
