Waverly Eugene Newton Sr.

Waverly Eugene Newton, Sr. of South Boston passed away April 5, 2024 at the age of 86.  He was born in Halifax, VA on April 8, 1937 to the late Addie Briggs Newton and the late Gertude Alice Compton Newton.  He was married to Jane Doss Newton who survives.

Waverly was the owner and operator of Newton’s Floor Sanding and Finishing.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, collecting guns, exercising, spending time on Banister River, and drinking coffee with his friends.  He and Jane were married 68 years and had a full and wonderful life together.  He will be remembered in love by all who knew him.
