William "Bobby" Jackson Long, Jr.

William Jackson “Bobby” Long, Jr of Halifax, VA finished his journey on earth on February 20, 2023.  He was born in Halifax County, VA on December 5, 1936 and was 86 years of age.  He was the son of the late William Jackson “Bob” Long, Sr and the late Annie Chaney Long.  He was married to Patsy Tucker Long who survives.

He was a life-time member of First Baptist Church of South Boston where he served as a Deacon for many years.  Bobby served in the United States Army as a pilot and then worked for and retired from Universal Leaf Company as a Tobacconist.  He also was a life-time member of Halifax County Country Club.  Bobby enjoyed playing golf and spending time with friends, but he loved his wife, his family, and his church.  His memory will be forever with us.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Susan Davis officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at his home.
