Mr. William Homer Evans of Halifax, VA passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born February 2, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, VA and was 80 years old. He was the son of the late Jack Otis Evans and the late Elsie Moorefield Evans Sellers and was married to Gloria Faye Wilmouth Evans, who survives.
He was a member of the Oak Level Presbyterian Church and retired from Dan River Mills. He was an avid fisherman, bird hunter and golfer.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Lewandowski officiating. In keeping with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, funeral services will also be livestream via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
The family will receive friends, celebrating the life of Homer Evans following the graveside service at his homeplace, 2010 Oak Level Rd., Halifax, VA.
Per his request his remains will return to his homeplace, Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
