William Frank Moorefield, Jr.

Mr. William Frank Moorefield Jr. of Halifax, VA passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.  He was born in Halifax County on March 20, 1925 and was 99 years old.  He was the son of the late William Frank Moorefield Sr. and the late Stella Wilmouth Moorefield and was married for 57 years to the late Carol Ann Smith Moorefield.  He attended Winns Creek Baptist Church.  He was a WW II US Navy Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 8. He also was an avid racing fan.

 He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn M. Sullivan, a sister, Helen M. Snead, and a brother, Charlie Moorefield.
 
 A funeral service will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jim Kopco conducting the service. Burial with Military Rites will follow at the Oakland Cemetery at Scottsburg. A visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7-8:30 PM.
